Nobel Peace Prize between the Fake and the Truth

October 19, 2009

President Sadat II

President Sadat

Obama the US President

Frankly speaking, the whole world always remember our Egyptian Martyr Ex-President Mohamed Anwar Al-Sadat who had been awarded Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 according to his extraordinary efforts in this regard with Israel, a president led his home country to October 1973 Big Victory over Israel and achieved the demolition of both Parliv-Line  and the legend of Israeli Undefeated Army, in addition, restored the occupied land of Sinai since it had been occupied after Egypt being defeated before Israel in June 1967.

A president who was intellectual and has unprecedented way of thinking when he believed in peace and intercultural dialogue before anyone of his homologues, when the world was divided into two polar powers, right and left represented in both USA and USSR and their allies.

There is no doubt that what Sadat did in that time was magnificent, because he solely took the initiative of Peace with Israel after an objective and neutral way of thinking. In addition to at least a couple of years of arrangements till ratifying the Peace Accords in 1978. As he justified that we got fed off holding bilateral and multilateral political discussions and negotiations with the whole world in respect of clashes and disputes with Israel except the main party in this clash represented in the Israeli themselves.

Sadat was aiming to stop any bloodshed from the Arab youth side and tried to make the coming generations in this area thinking in development and prosperity instead of being tension and thinking of war all the time, and replacing such tension by peace and cooperation, because we cannot fight most of our live with an enemy, and if so, why we are not containing such enemy, if found.

Thereupon, the whole world bestowed him the title of the President of War and Peace, and unfortunately most of the Arab regimes could not digest that initiative and accused him of being a big traitor. However, in this time being the Arab regimes who opposed such accords are crying and still crying over the spilt milk and wasting such great opportunity, because he promised the Palestinians in that time to obtain a big part of their home occupied lands and solve a big part of their current problems with Israel.

Notwithstanding, what is promoted/developed currently in the western media in respect the credibility of the result of the war, whether we won and achieved a big victory or not, Nobody can suspect the restoration of our occupied land (Sinai) completely, even the  smallest part of land of Saini that called “Taba” nearby the territories with Israel and Jordan, which returned to us by the international arbitration in March 1989.

Moreover, if we were beaten, we would never restore our whole land, and also cannot impose the Peace on the Israeli part. Whereas the history is full of several incidents of some beaten nations e.g. Germany and Japan after World War II and what was really occurred to them “the division of Germany into two parts, the existence of American military bases in both Germany and Japan, and then both occurred to limitation in their own militant troops” when we had never exposed to such incidents like them.

On the other side, we found that Nobel Foundation has granted US President Obama Peace Nobel Prize for this year 2009, I do not know why? Is it just for his speech at Cairo University in June 2009? Yeah, we cannot deny that that he is a good presenter and he got such experience as a result of being a professor in both politics and law for long time.

But, yeah, he talks about projects and plans in his mind of peace and global development when he became the president of US in January 2009, however, 8 months are not sufficient to make him equal with Sadat or Even with Mohamed Al-Baradee the Director of International Atomic Energy Agency.

Obama promised to stop wars and close prisons like Guantanamo by which torture I practiced over the prisons there, however, we found him approving sending about additional 40000 of US troops to Afghanistan to fight Taliban , whereas Taliban was not the target of the West headed by US, but Al-Qaida which grown originally by the west itself.

Why Obama and his administration did not save such funds (instead of sending 40000 US militants to Afghanistan) to be invested in global development and fighting both poverty and illness worldwide as he promised and according to the global millennium goals as defined by UN. We are sure that there are a lot pressures especially from the Weapons Lobby in US the sole beneficiary of such unjustified attacks and wars push Obama to do that.

If Obama and the west really want to spread and grow the seeds of Peace, they will accept having an open equal dialogue with Iran and invite both Arabs and Israel to such dialogue without any prior conditions to solve the crises of the Middle East and open new page in this regard.

If Obama and the west really want to spread and grow the seeds of Peace, they have to push the existed regimes in the Arab world to apply the fundamental human rights, but in fact, politics will never be changed whether by Obama or someone else, because, unfortunately, it is always a dirty game based on interest not in the favour of human being.

Farouk Hosni lost his battle to be the next Director of UNESCO

September 25, 2009

Farouk Hosni Egyptian Minister of Culture

Farouk Hosni Egyptian Minister of Culture

A couple of days before specifically on Sep 2nd 2009 at the Palace of UNESCO in Paris, the Egyptian Minister of Culture lost his last round to be the Director of UNESCO before his Bulgarian competitor Irina Bokova the Ambassador of Bulgaria in France alleging that there was a political manipulation from the some Jewish lobby association who convinced the voters not to give him the majority of the votes when he obtained 29 votes against 31 votes for the Bulgarian lady and accordingly he failed to win such title.

The matter reminds me by the main issue which was controversial for a long time “the Camp David Peace Accords in between Egypt and Israel since 1978” and according to this matter, formally, Egypt is country normalized with Israel, however, such normalization is limited to specific categories especially politicians, businessmen and intellectuals including artists and not to all.

In addition, when someone wants to travel to Israel not belongs to the above categories he/she shall be exposed to a very tough interrogation by whether state security or intelligence, when such matters cannot be occurred to the people of the above categories, and the politicians always alleging that the government is normalized when the people is not (a licit matter for elites and an illicit for ordinary people), I do not know really why they say that and under what terms and conditions (very explicit contradiction).

Frankly speaking, this is the dilemma that made the situation of Farouk Hosni not very strong and not very clear for the voters and made them reviewing their situations over and over again, however, in my point of view, it is not the pressures of some Jewish pressure groups as the media here alleged, but, his controversial situations about the Israeli books in respect of burning it, then his apologies for such matter, therefore, he was not decisive enough, the matter that made it difficult to be the director of UNESCO.

The hesitated situation of Hosni is similar to the situation of our Arab world, especially Egypt. Whereupon, the Arab peoples are very confused, when their governments are normalized, they cannot do that, so, we are badly in need of a clear and evident situation from our governments, giving equal opportunity to all in such matter, or to stop it, or to reform the accords of Camp David according to the current international situation.

Not only that, but also, we need youth from both sides Arab and Israeli solve their own problems by themselves out of whether beneficiaries/politicians or people of interest Jewish people are our cousins and they know that very well and Arabs protected them over the history since Andalusia till wars of Nazi and they will never feel safe without Arabs and USA can play a good role in this issue.

Finally, we have to accept the rules of the game and accept the loss as we accept the winning, then when we lose, we have to study the reasons of our loss carefully and try to transfer it to the reasons of success in next rounds or times instead of saying that there was a manipulation or bias or things in this regard.

His name is Assem Nosseir graduated from the school of law that belongs to Alexandria University in 1986, Assem is a happily married person has 2 daughters. Assem is considered also as one of my friends as both of us human rights activists and having several common men of law human rights friends too. Also Assem is my colleague because we work for the same entity “Eldib Advocates” one of the biggest legal services companies here in the Middle East in service of law since 1875.

Whereas Assem is serving as lawyer registered at the Court of Cassation bearing a big part of both commercial and maritime legal consulting at the office, however, I hold the legal translation at the office in 3 languages (Arabic, English and French) in addition to the coordination of International Law Association (ILA) here in Egypt.

In spite of that Assem is considered as one of Muslim Brothers, he is very moderate open-minded person indeed, because we discuss everything without any limitation or restriction. Assem was elected for 2 consecutive sessions at the Sub Bar Association of Alexandria to be its treasurer, therefore, he spent 8 years at the same title since 2001, whereas he developed several sides of the financial policy at the Bar Association of Alexandria, not only that but also, he developed several projects of the committees at the Par Association especially in funding.

Assem Nosseir assured that he was fighting the recent round of 2009 for being a board member at the General Bar Association among 160 nominees, and most of the lawyers expected him to win.

Also, Assem is desirous to achieve more services, improving the existed services and add more social services and activities at the General Bar Association e.g. fighting for the people’s human rights and fundamental rights, transparency, upgrading the standards and the efficiency of the lawyers through training and raising their capacities and presentation skills at the General Bar Association.

World Environment Day (WED) at BibAlex Alexandria and Obama’s New Beginning in Cairo

June 14, 2009

my captures

I could not expect to take a day off  on Thursday dated June 4th 2009, because at my work there is a usual meeting taking place each Thursday and a several legal translation topics have to be translated, so it was good because May 2009 was very tiring month.

On the morning of that day I proceeded to BibAlex according to an invitation addressed to me by Dr. Amal Hosny the Coordinator of the United Nations Environment Prog here in Egypt (UNEP) to attend the celebration of the World Environment Day (WED) which supposed to be held annually on June 5th. And such event was hosted by Bibliotheca Alexandrina and in collaboration with the World Bank Information Center under supervision of Mrs. Nehal El-Kouesny.

It was really a good surprise to find Mr. Khaled Saleh one our best actors in this time being in the Arab World who took the floor several times and answered many question that related to both environment and human rights and the chart that he follows in both his movies and TV drama, also he advised the youth to take the initiative to develop their own community and make it more cleaner and proper for better healthy humanitarian life.

We have discussed the Kyoto Protocol which was established on Dec.11th 1997 at Kyoto – Japan which entered into force on 16 February 2005 in order to fight the greenhouse phenomenon by reducing the use of the greenhouse gases and reduce the emissions thereof.

All know that USA signed on the protocol, however they never ratify it till now, alleging that both India and China according to their enormous economic growth not rationalizing the use of greenhouse gases, and also alleging that reducing greenhouse gases 7% lower than 1990s during the period in between 2008-2012 shall be very expensive, and from this point we kindly request from President Obama and his administration to do their best to ratify such protocol, because it has a very quick negative impact on the earth and it shall include all the countries and not limited to specific countries.

Some of the audience asked why we do not feel the role of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Authority (EEAA) and why they do not publish annual reports and statistics about the current environmental situation here in Egypt, however there is a very useful site for the EEAA (www.eeaa.gov.eg) where any beneficiary can find all the report and statistics she/he needs, however EEAA like the National Council for Human Rights (www.nchr.org.eg) the more precious information they supply the less use of beneficiaries. EEAA made a competition for WED occasion called “Your Planet needs you unite to combat climate change”.

In this occasion we forgot to remember Dr. Adel Abu Zahra a man from Alexandria fight a lot for environment as a human right and created the Environment’s Friends Association here in Alexandria and filed many lawsuits against politicians, the governorate and businessmen who tried to violate the environmental law in force No. 4/1994 and accordingly the United Nations bestowed him a title of one of the best 10 volunteers globally in 1990s for his efforts in both environmental field and women empowerment.

US Gov Capture

US Gov Capture

After the closure of the WED event, I flied to my house to follow up the big event represented in Obama’s speech, and as everybody knows that it was a big day in Egypt as a result of the great visit of the new US President Barak Hussein Obama to Egypt in his tour to the middle east which was started of course in Saudi Arabia for discussing for sure some economic topics especially the future of the energy “the Oil” and if it is possible to make it in this time being in a relevant price lest affect negatively on the American and global economy according to the global economic recession which was caused by the administration of Bush as result of his unjustified wars against Afghanistan, Iraq and its indirect participation in both the Israeli Aggression against Lebanon July 2006 and finally the war against Gaza from Dec 2008 till Jan 2009.

Such wars made the global economy incurs more than US$ 10 trillion according to all the realistic statistics fulfilled by international institutions in such era, if such amounts used in development it would defeat both poverty and illness internationally forever.

Obama talk about the intercultural dialogue and such thing was requested a long time ago by all the intellects from both the American and the Arab sides including Interreligious Dialogue, and referring to the matter of overlapping is something good, but I hope if media in west focusing on that, because in my point of view, he tacitly presented some sort of an apology to the Muslim World, which is good from his esteemed side.

Nothing new was presented for Palestinian side because the solution of two states and the matter of stop constructing settling colonies were presented before, but, in my point of view, youth from Arab side and Youth from Israeli side can make a compromise, not the politicians, empowering youth programs in between the two side and giving them the priority more than politicians can make a difference because such case represents their future and destiny.

The same attitude should be exerted in treating with the Iranian case, because, I requested several times before having a big Middle Eastern event like Middle East Youth Summit under the umbrella of both GOs and NGOs in the Area to collect youth from all of the Arab side, Iranian side and Israeli side to discuss the future of the Middle East Youth and the prospected cooperation among them in that respect that shall strength both economic development, growth and welfare in such area.

Peace will never come true without economic welfare, thus, Egypt needs Obama’s support to erect some middle nuclear power reactors that shall give us both energy and water that shall be used in sustainable development needs, because we know that US is the only power who can help and support us in that respect as we are qualified and having both the technical expertise and the manpower to fulfill that. Also, I should say that such reactors are not polluting the environment, because we did not hear before that France or Canada or USA suffered from the use and the negative impact of such reactors on their environment. Moreover, according to the statistics in that respect, France has exports amounted to EUR 3 Billion per annum represented in electricity extracted from nuclear reactors without any pollution.

Finally, the Arab youth will never be free without empowerment that came as one of the most important UN millennium goal, accordingly, empowerment will be fulfilled through fair justice, academic freedom and scientific research, freedom of expression, networking, freedom of NGOs and parties and democracy the elements that should be supported by your government and all of international organizations that supporting such fields.

Finally, I would like to send my gratitude to Media & Press Department of US Embassy and the white house for sending me the text of the speech in two languages, the video and the for sms service in respect of sending me instant highlights of the speech directly on my mobile.

Best regards,

What is the destination of the Arab Economy after Kuwaiti Economic Summit?

March 18, 2009
My Captures

My Captures

Actually, we do not need deluxe real estate investments anymore that absorbs a proper part of the Arab financial liquidity, and as long as I watch commercials or advertisements in respect of new richy compounds, villas, villages, cities and resorts, I say it is not a real investment, because the economy is mainly based on real investment in both Industry, Agriculture, Land Reclamation and Tourism, because, how could we digest the increase of the population in a country like Egypt, Yemen and Morocco.

If we really want to create more job opportunities and as we heard in many economic summits especially at the Kuwaiti one around (100 M jobs), therefore, there is no need to delay applying urgently the codes of both the Academic Freedom and the Scientific Research, in addition to giving a priority to vocational schools in fields required in our societies like nursing, industrial and agricultural schools that should be based on some sort of sponsorship from Businessmen Associations and Civil Society and its urgently required to give a plan for such project that could help millions of youth, and such school have to be run in a different way like a partnership with the ministry of education, however 70% of the curriculums and grades have to be given on practical applicable basis.

The military provisions and foreign purchase thereto have to be reduced, because about US$ 10 Trillion were spent in wars and armament especially in our area (MENA) and if such funds were used in a proper and rational way in our area, there will never be any poor Arab citizen in our area, also the matter of mobility has to be regulated in a better way because we have a surplus of militant volunteers even from university graduates who suffer from joblessness.

I heard that the banking sector here Egypt assuming that it avoided the global recession according to its safeguards, however, the matter was by luck, because we still having lag in real investment and credit system the matter that accumulated an extraordinary surplus in its own cash amounted to US$ 13 Billion, however, where are the investment counsels that should be available at banks, also It is rarely to hear that a bank has a department for specialized feasibility studies for studying projects proposals, not only that but also, they should offer department for social investment as being done by Mohamed Younis in Bangladesh that focus on both regrouping of young investors and NGOs in societies and giving them priority to other categories.

We have a very big short in corps as wheat, Corn, Maize, Rice, Malt, Beans, Lentil, Cotton, Clover and Flax/Lana and we have some interacted problems e.g. enough arable land, enough water, appropriate manpower and marketability, therefore, we cannot stay away from investing in Nuclear Power Plants for peaceful exploitations, because, each Nuclear power plant shall offer at least 5000 job opportunities if under construction until the beginning of its operation when a medium power plant shall produce 1,200 MW.

We have to plan for growing the principle corps as mentioned here-above in order to supply the fundamental food for the majority of the Arab people who surviving under poverty line, and I do not want to hear from someone that the poverty line is US$ 40 monthly, because it is very illogical standard according to the rates of prices around us which were decreased around the world, however, here are not (for also some illogical reasons, that investors and businessmen bought items in higher prices before the crisis, therefore, they cannot reduce it suddenly, however, those investors or businessmen forgot that they also obtained extraordinary profits before the crisis and still obtain it as vampires from our blood in spite of  the wave of the global inflation using the ignorance of the ordinary people and the absence of the execution of consumer protection laws.

We have to support the Arab peasants and farmers as all the developed countries do, France recently supported its farmers by an amount of (€ 10 Billion), supporting that sector is very much important than armament when we ascertain that recently an Arab country bought US$ 8 Billion in a deal of arms in spite of that one of its regions suffering from insolvency, also, (£ 260 Billion) were spent on arms never used in a deal called the Black Dove and others, unfortunately we are one of the best markets for western weapons/armament industry.

In spite of Allah gave us shores and coasts alongside the Arab world, we still having lag in developing our fisheries, I do not know why, because we have some good and healthy resource of food I mean (Fish) however, we waste it. In Egypt we have Lake Nasser where we hear that the volume of an intermediate (Tilapia Nilotica Fish) is about (5kgms) without simplest trial to exploit such resource that can feed the Arab world of its fish, not only that the coasts of Morocco and Mauritania is very rich of fish as a result of the warm oceanic currents, also and can feed the Arab world daily of fish when it shall be cheaper than poultry and cattle.

Water is one of our biggest crisis, however, Nuclear Power Plants can support us not only by our needs of energy, but also of our needs and more of desalinated water that could be used for extra land reclamation and if distilled in a very simple way could be used as a potable water.

Unfortunately, privatization that taken place in some Arab states was not successful at all, because they neglected the domestic manpower in companies and foundation privatized and did not gave them the chance according to the right of preemption to invest in the company where they served as the British Experience in that respect.

6th Arab Reform Forum “the Arab World: Present and Future” 1-3 March 2009 Bibliotheca Alexandrina

arf4

Dear Friends;

Frankly speaking, I think I should give some comments or remarks each year when I attend the Arab Reform Forum that always being held and organized from A to Z by Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BibAlex) at a permanent  period of time (1-3) March annually.

First I have to send my gratitude to the organization committee supervised by Dr. Mohsen Youssef and to the Director of the Bibliotheca Dr. Ismail Serageldin for the success of such forum (the 6th Forum) that give us the opportunity to meet each other as intellects representing all the Arab countries and thinking together collectively in challenges that hinder us in moving ahead towards sustainable development in our Arab World.

Second my comments shall briefly be as follows:

We did not watch at the opening session at the DVD performed before the audience the opinion and the criticism of Dr. Sayed Yassin about the Social Observatory which was elaborated 2 years before by BibAlex, in spite of such opinion was very important and empowering the matter of transparency and based on a scientific methodology.

We should not hear at the first day that the Declaration/Charter of Bibliotheca Alexandrina which was adopted at the first session of the forum in 2004 was representing just a fruit of an American pressure, because mentioning that will ascertain such matter.

We still hear some sort of indirect and nontransparent answers concerning the role of the youth as an active party in creating and fulfilling the future of this Arab World, and the speakers thinking that it is a gift or a grant given to them, as well as the matter of real democracy and human rights, except Dr. Ossama ElGhazaly Harb who warned the attendance from unexpected movements could be affected by the people whose social standard is getting eroded and degraded according to the higher rate of poverty and lack of fundamental needs.

We wish that the next time BibAlex could invite delegations from Iran and Turkey to get the profit of their experience in both Agriculture and Industry by which we have a very big lag in our Arab world.

Some people unfortunately still thinking that the financial crisis is devolving to the real estate mortgage, however, in a very simple and logic way when we read the figures of 2 international peace institutes in Sweden called (SIPRI and Live & Peace) we will see the wars in Middle East incurred the international economy at least an amount of US$ 10 Trillion from 2003 till 2008, not only that, we have to review the figures of money spent in Arab armament and if such amounts were used in development and fighting the poverty, it supposed to eradicate the poverty forever, not only that but also, it will make all the population of the earth cohabitate at a good standard of welfare.

We still insist to have Nuclear Power Plants to supply us with both potable desalinated water and energy instead of petrol, not only that, the projects of solar towers in both North African Arab States and in Gulf could also make a sustainable development and create thousands of jobs for youth, we can eat fish instead of meat as long as the costs of the Arab world covering the states thereto, water regenerated by referred Plants or Towers can reclaim the desert, then using the graduates of both school of sciences and agriculture to fulfill researches for the possible corps which could be grown in any area and the best ways of irrigation in such area.

Harmonization in the inter-politics and inter-legislations of the Arab world can empower sustainable development a lot in our world, Kuwait Economic Summit was just a milestone, however, we need more Arabic summits in that respect and youth should represent 50% of such summits, because the economic side for the majority of the people still as a maze.

I heard someone in the economic session believes that the existence of the Asians is a profit for the Arabs to work in west US, Canada and EU, however, such character still not believing that we remain (persona non grata) for them according to several reasons e.g. Islamophobia, cultural lag, fanaticism, marginalization and stereotyping according to their point of view, therefore, they will import laborers from India “as what Germany did 3 or 4 years before in respect of importing about 100000 of Indians to work in IT field, in spite of the Arab world is full of many thousands of Arab youth who are professional in that field, or they can import from Latin America or Asia and they have protocols for that.

The Arab world still has a lag in Academic Freedom, Scientific Research, Transparency, NGOs and Accountability that based on neutral Research Centers, therefore, the youth is not empowered or deployed anymore, because they are not well trained (things in our life as Arabs not always based on experimental methodology).

What do you think if the coming Arab Reform Forum main topic is “the Academic Freedom and the Liberation of Arab Universities and the Scientific Research”?

What do you think if the coming Arab Reform Forum invites Iranian and Turkish Delegations to talk about their experiences as the other invited foreign guests?

What do you think if Both Arab Reform Forum & Arab Youth Forum could be hosted one year in Alexandria and one year at an agreed/voted/nominated Arab Capital or City to give the Arab youth the opportunity to know each other more, provided that BibAlex is the main organizer of this event?

I heard someone from youth may be not understanding the meaning of the freedom of expression and insisting on the necessity of applying some sort of censorship according to thinking of “regulating” the blogging and the bloggers according to creating a law/legislation for e-press, however, on the other side, there was a one of our well known respected journalists (Mr. Saad Hagras) requested to facilitate to bloggers to join the syndicate of journalists according to their professionalism in that respect and what they have achieved in many events recently, and how they could reach areas, agencies and peoples not reached before by the ordinary written press.

At some sessions the moderatos were not good according to a repeated complain from the audience according to the matter of the selectivity affected by them when they give unequal comments/interventions for their mates, whether such comments or interventions were in topic or not.

In respect of the Radicalism or Modernism, I think if Dr. Adel Abu Zahra was still alive, he would give you an example about Alexandria as alive model till the 1960s of the last century of cosmopolitanism and multiplicity, because we still have that reference or evidence represented in the Latin Cemetery of Alexandria that allotted a big part of it for Atheists, whereas Alexandria was a city of acceptance and tolerance.

We don’t care if the president is a man or woman, Muslim or not, atheist or believe in Allah, provided that such President or Governor has to be committed with and keep the ethics of Civil and Modern State that respect and apply the supremacy of justice, equity, multiplicity, acceptance of all orientations, tolerance, freedom of expressions, democracy, transparency and accountability (according to Dr. Ahmed Mady presentation). Be noted that the presidency is not based anymore on only one as the most of the people may think, however the presidency is one of the biggest institution in any modern civilized country based on many and several intellectuals, consultants and smart politicians in all fields of life.

Because we may nominate someone assuming that he is religious, however, he does not apply the meaning of Islam or religion, the matter that has been highlighted before by his Beatitude Dr. Al-Qaradawy when he referred in his weekly program on Al-Jazeera to the superficiality in religion that has been referred by Dr. Hareb and Dr. Al-Milad in that Theme. However, I do not agree with them when they mitigate the role of democracy in any Arab Muslim State as we referred before that democracy is the base of good governance when the practices are transparent and based on honesty that allow to all the citizens to participate in decision making, and we can achieve that if we have the good will as peoples and regimes.

At the closure we have remembered the role of Dr. Adel Abu Zahra who created the Dialogue Forum at BibAlex and a man with a sound track record in civil society in several fields e.g. Environmental Issues, Cultures and Religions Dialogue and Women Empowerment. Also he was selected by the United Nations as one of the most impressive 10 volunteers worldwide in such issues, therefore, BibAlex is granting in that occasion (ARF) annually a tribute and financial prize to one of the Egyptian NGOs as a commemoration of Dr. Adel Abu Zahra.

If Dr. Adel Abu Zahra was alive in this time, Alexandria would never be degraded as it is right now, and he would never allow to anyone to demolish the Cultural Patrimony of Alexandria represented in deforming both the Cornish and Pavements of Alexandria which were constructed by rare stones brought from Aswan 15o years before, Alexandria the city which was the most beautiful city in the Euro-Med Region till the Beginning of 1970s. “Therefore, I’m wondering, where is the role of BibAlex in that respect as a pressure entity?”

Kindest regards,

Yeah, this is the 4th year the Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosting the Arab Youth Forum and this time adopting as always an important issue concerning the Arab Youth Identity at the Age of Globalization.

Frankly speaking this year I loved a lot the organization as a result of being more professional, the idea of getting sponsorship through Sponsors and a speaker from the Egyptian National Council of Human Rights.

As mentioned many times before, I just want to assure that youth are the main power right now in Arab societies, the youth media representing in Blogging, Tubing and E-Press was very important factor in both the recent wars Lebanon 2006 then the Gaza one 2009, because they could disclose the whole and the real situation before the West, therefore, the youth in such events are meritorious to be appreciated more than Arab regimes, governments and ordinary Media.

the Role of the youth is not a grant they obtain as something optional from their regimes, but, it is one of their fundamental rights, yeah, governments having Ministries or Councils of Youth, however, there is a big gap in between the Arab regimes and the youth they own who amounted to 70% of the Arab population.

Yeah, we need to find about 100 M  jobs for youth by 2025, however, it will never be achieved without implementing  justice, Academic Freedom, Human Rights, Stronger NGOs and Parties, planned networking, Freedom of expression and of course Democracy.

We have to use the existence of Obama as a young American President has a good understanding of our crises and problems; however the intentions have to be clear.

We have no fear from globalization or internet when we apply the right Academic Freedom that shall make us as youth aware enough, we do not need any more trusteeship from the older generation or censorship, but fear is occurring when there is no transparency.

Yeah, we have a Dream, but the real life obliges us to achieve it in the right time “we can do it”, based on experimental methodology and accountability.

Hope that

Obama is the actual president of US, therefore, to be, or not to be, this is the question

The youth of the Arab and Islamic world are also supporting Obama who is currently the actual US President after his consecration yesterday Jan 20th 2009 at the Capitol Building which is witnessed worldwide.

Some people will think that I’m exaggerating in my optimism; however, I just want to remind all of them that Obama was the First Afro-American Law Professor at Harvard University; moreover, he is a human rights activist and using all the most recent widely used tools of communication as youtube and facebook, so he is aware enough of our problems as youth internationally, therefore, he will do all his best to change this world of youth.

When the priest was praying for him before swearing the oath, we were praying for him here in our Arab and Muslim world that may Allah lead him to the right ways to solve both US and world crises, and oppositely for Bush who will be dammed by God in his life and after being dead who led the whole world to unjustified dramatic crises and wars starting with creating the phantom of the terrorism legend, attacking Afghanistan, invasion of Iraq in 2003 under false allegations admitted and confessed by both of him and by Mr. Hans Blix (the head of mass destruction weapons inspector) to steal the oil of Iraq and then stealing most of the Iraqi heritage and killing more than 1 Million of Iraqi people and was the reason of their Diaspora, concluding some corrupted deals with the regimes of our area not in the favour of their peoples, but in the Favour of Israel to keep the fragile stability of such regimes, helping Israel in its attacking Lebanon in July 2006, exposure to the worst global financial deficit as a result of the unjustified wars against the illusive Beast that called terrorism (More than 14 trillion US$ were spent in such wars when we need just 50 Billions to treat the worldwide AIDS patients and 150 Billions to fight poverty worldwide “figures given by International Organizations”).

And finally helping Israel for the Latest Gaza invasion and killing more than 1100 of innocent citizens 80% of them from Kids and Women, a dirty president who should be followed by Interpol and sued by International Criminal Court as a war criminal, as well as Deck Cheney his Vice-President and Condoleezza Rice.

Frankly speaking, Dirty Bush deformed the image of USA worldwide, therefore, Obama has many difficult challenges we know that perfectly, we can help him if he really give a priority to youth worldwide who express the majority of the global population, open dialogue with youth in both Arab Islamic world and Africa will solve many crises, because our regimes do not care about us, there is no hope of change in that respect, such countries will never be changed without the stability of Human Rights, Independent Justice, Real Democracy, Academic Freedom, Scientific Research and Freedom of expression.

Obama, please do not ever listen to the people who say that we are not qualified for Socio-political change, 80 % of the Middle East crises will be solved if the above factors are achieved, we warned Europe many times in that respect, however, their initiatives (Barcelona Process and then this suspected Union for Mediterranean) unfortunately did not achieve yet its targets and superficial, however it increased the gap and the homophobia between North and South regions, whereas the profits obtained by politicians in regimes and businessmen from both sides were increased, therefore you have to take it as a case study, and to use us as youth in a realistic action plan to develop youth in our region MENA based on many channels e.g. more NGOs and Human Rights Activists exchange programs, more training programs, more intercultural and interreligious dialogue programs.

Yeah, you were silent since being elected as a president, we appreciate that, because we thought that you were monitoring what’s going on globally and you know how much the criminal and aggressive invasion of Gaza was a painful unforgivable humanitarian crime and all people here know that your country unfortunately was involved in such massacres by providing Israel with weapons and some of such weapons were prohibited worldwide especially the phosphoric bombs just to support and enforce the Israeli hegemony in the area, therefore, your terms of being president should be white and clean, because the whole world is not bearing extra-wars.

Last but not least, May Allah bless you and lead you Excellency to the right way.

Ahmed Moustafa expresses his view about Gaza Israeli’s invasion

January 8, 2009

The situation will never be fixed as long as our Arab regimes give support to Israel, I’m not against Israel, because I do respect the Rapi who protested against the aggression and the invasion of Gaza, this situation will never be fixed without resorting to a very urgent boycott with Israel and dismissing the Israeli Ambassadors from all the Arab and Muslim states.
Arab youth should hand over the initiative in respect of an equaled dialogue with Israeli youth as we did before many times, because we are 70% of the population and the future is ours not the political regimes.
Israel is afraid of the higher demographical rate in the favour of the Palestinians not in their favour, therefore they import manpower from allover the world even from Muslim countries and this fear is always the motive and the factor to attack and kill Palestinians most of the time under their allegation of self deterrence and defense, however if they really have the good faith and intention to go on a real peace process not the plays that we see since 1991, each party will adopt equal solutions.
Israeli always assuming that they kill civilians as Hamas use them as fenders, however all the TV channels around the world televising what’s going on, they have to stop lying to us and to the world, because protests is moving around the world condemning that non-humanitarian aggression.

Regards,

Ahmed Moustafa
